The above report summarizes the facts of global warming.

The conclusion must be that burning fossil fuels and increasing the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and oceans is not a good thing to be doing.

However, reducing the atmosperic carbon dioxide level to the pre-industrial level will have only a small effect on global warming.

The additional carbon dioxide will increase the temperature and sea level rise in addition to that produced by any natural warming, and will endanger ocean fisheries by destabilizing the calcium carbonate in marine organisms at the base of the ocean food chain.

Assuming that the current natural warming will be the same as the Medieval Warm Period, which was 1.4 degrees warmer with sea level 25 cm higher than now, an additional 0.4 degrees of anthropogenic warming would produce and additional 7 cm of sea level rise (based upon a linear extrapolation.)
